Alcaraz Cruises Into Quarters; Tsitsipas Rallies

Spanish third seed Carlos Alcaraz made another statement of intent by sweeping past Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3 6-3 6-2 on Friday to reach the quarter-finals of the French Open.

The 11-time tour-level titlist has dropped just two sets en route to the last eight in the French capital.

Meanwhile, Greek ninth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas lost the opening set but went on to defeat Italian Matteo Arnaldi 3-6 7-6 4 6-2 6-3 to also reach the quarter-finals.

Tsitsipas trailed Arnaldi 3-6 3-5 but turned things around to win in four hours and five minutes.
